Micromax announces A89 Ninja with 1GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.0

The Micromax A89 Ninja officially appears on the company’s website. The specification of the phone has been mentioned on the Micromax website. The A89 is an upgraded version of A87 Ninja which was launched last year.

Specification wise the Micromax A89 Ninja is powered by a dual core 1GHz Mediatek MT6577 CPU with 512MB RAM. The phone comes with 4GB internal storage, which can be expanded up to 32GB through a microSD card. The A89 sports a 4-inch WVGA display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixel. It runs on Android 4.0 ICS out the the box.

The smartphone also features a 3 megapixel camera with no flash and no front camera. It also has a 1450 mAh battery which Micromax claims will deliver 4 hours of talktime and 170 hours of standby time.

In terms of connectivity, the A89 Ninja has Bluetooth 2.1, 3G, Wi-Fi and USB. It also supports dual-SIM functionality and comes with pre-loaded apps such as Hook up,M! live,M! store,M! Zone+,Fruit devil and Darkman just like other Micromax Android smartphones.

As of now, there is no word on pricing from the company, but the information from the web suggest that Micromax A89 will be priced around Rs. 7,000 in India. The device is expected to appear on the online shopping portals soon.

Recently Micromax has also launch the A116 Canvas Hd with quad core Mediatek processor. The device has been a lot successful in India. The other features of this smartphone include Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean), 2100mAh battery, 5-inch HD IPS screen, 8 MP rear camera, VGA front camera, 1GB RAM and 4GB of internal storage.
